Anechoic chamber
2011
Toilet door intervention
Toilet door, stencil, spray paint, oil marker

One of the most quoted speeches of John Cage talks about his experience in an anechoic chamber at Harvard; the artist entered there to hear the silence, however, despite the acoustic insulation, he heard his nervous system and blood circulation, his conclusion was that sound creation mattered no more, there is always music while there is life. A stencil with this sentence referring to the anechoic chamber is placed at the door of a toilet, later it’s intervened exchanging a few words that suggest an adaptation of the situation that can be experienced at each visit to the bathroom.
